What laminated wood is.

Why it does not warp and why it lasts for decades.

Section through a laminated wood window profile

Several lamellas, not a single piece

Solid wood from a single piece “works” with moisture: it swells in summer, shrinks in winter and, over time, can bend. Laminated wood is made of 3–4 lamellas glued together, with their grain turned in different directions.

When one lamella wants to bend to one side, its neighbours hold it straight. The result: a window or a door that stays straight and closes just as well after 20 years.

Why it matters to you

  • Stability: it does not warp, does not crack and does not jam when closing.
  • Strength: the profile is stiffer than a solid wood one of the same thickness.
  • Appearance: on the outside you see natural wood throughout, with its grain, not an imitation material.

The wood species we use

Spruce, pine, Nordic pine, meranti, ash and oak for windows and exterior doors; oak and lime for interior doors. Each has its own character; we show you real samples before you order.
